Dr. Odugbesan earned his medical degree at the University of Lagos in Lagos, Nigeria. He completed his Internal Medicine residency at the Scottish Postgraduate Board of Medicine in Scotland, United Kingdom and Endocrinology fellowships at the University of Birmingham, Birmingham, England and Emory University Atlanta, Georgia. He is a Member of The Royal College of Physicians, London, UK and is board certified in both Internal Medicine and Endocrinology/Diabetes. Dr. Odugbesan is a Fellow of the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists and a member of the American Diabetes Association and the Endocrine Society.
Dr. Odugbesan has been a principal investigator or co-investigator in several key clinical trials. He is one of six endocrinologists in a large private practice in suburban Atlanta where over 200 diabetes patients are seen on a daily basis. He is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine at both Mercer University School of Medicine and Georgia Regents University.
As author or co-author, Dr. Odugbesan’s work has been published in peer-reviewed medical journals, including Lancet and the British Medical Journal.
