Dr. Murrow studied history at Harvard College before attending medical school at Emory University School of Medicine. He then pursued residency training at Johns Hopkins Hospital where he later served as an Assistant Chief of Service (chief resident). He completed his cardiovascular fellowship at Emory University and was then appointed to the cardiology faculty in the department of medicine. He returned to his hometown of Athens, Georgia in 2009 to help launch the Georgia Regents University – University of Georgia Medical Partnership through teaching cardiovascular physiology, medical humanities, and clinical medicine. Since 2013, he has directed development of graduate medical education at Athens Regional Medical Center where he also practices cardiology and conducts patient-oriented cardiovascular research.
