Clinical & Teaching Interests: 

Dr. Jenkins began practicing medicine in Athens in 1987 after completing a Fellowship in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at the University of South Carolina. He completed medical school at the University of Louisville, Kentucky and then his residency at Emory University. He has been a leader in Critical-Care at Athens Regional Medical Center and is currently the Director of the ICU. He has been board certified in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine and Sleep Medicine. He is a member of the American Thoracic Society (ATS), the Society of Critical Care Medicine (SCCM) and American College of Chest Physicians (ACCP). Dr. Jenkins has served as a consultant in the Georgia Tuberculosis Program, District 10, since 1987. His interests include granulomatous lung disease and atypical tuberculosis.
